Unexpected Experience
I was wrong. So wrong. Being a supportive fiance to the real Devo fan, I attended the show not as a fan but knowing the crowd would be mostly teenage girls and their mothers, an almost-40 year old guy, I wasn't expecting to get one bit of joy from attending this show.
I am now finding myself listening to Devo at work, in the car, even when I'm at home. It's unreal how one live experience has completely changed how I feel about their music. I didn't mind K-Pop before and only knew about Devo because my fiancee is a huge fan but WOW! This event was fantastic!!
That doesn't happen! I am still talking about it days later. What I saw was amazing! The atmosphere - amazing! The seats were amazing! What I thought was going to be a dud of a weekend turned out to be one of the best experiences in entertainment of my entire life!
This was my first stadium show ever but I doubt the likes of U2 or The Rolling Stones could provide an atmosphere such as the one I experienced this past weekend. Simply outstanding!! All in all, I don't care what you're into - check these guys out. I don't get all giddy about the members of Devo like most of the girls do but I would fork over another thousand bucks to see them again but preferably closer to home (Washington DC) instead of the NYC area.
